February Wrap-Up 2022

It’s April and I’m only posting my February Wrap-Up now. This one is a little late. I read 9 books in February, a total of 4.057 pages. My average rating was 4.05 stars, which is great. Here’s what I read in February:

   

Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica – 3.5 stars. The story was addictive, I couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook! I needed to know what was going on. The suspense was great, the writing was good and several possibilities came to my mind while listening to the different timelines and the multiple POVs. The story was interesting and entertaining, there were so many ways it could go, and then when things start to take shape… there was no logic in it. That’s what bothered me most in this story. Some details didn’t make much sense when we finally put the pieces together. So, the ending felt disappointing.

The Gilded Cage by Lynette Noni – 4.5 stars. I loved this one so much! Check my mini-review here.

The Collective by Alison Gaylin – 3.5 stars. This story was disturbing, the relationships between the characters were unhinged. It was a fast read for me, even though it was slow paced. The concept was promising, but I don’t think it reached its full potential.  And the logic was the worse part of the story. I still enjoyed the ride.

The Highland Fling by Meghan Quinn – 5 stars. I read it because Deanna @ A Novel Glimpse recommended it and I loved every second! Rowan and Bonnie’s chemistry was fantastic! It was surprisingly emotional too. I was so sad to say goodbye to these characters. A top favorite of the month and probably the year! So good! Highly recommended. (Check the TWs for this one.)

   

The Survivors by Jane Harper – 4 stars. This was probably the most atmospheric book I read in 2022. I still think about it from time to time. It was slow but it worked so well for me. Secrets, lies, memories, guilt, mysteries, tragedies… Check my mini-review here.

Only When It’s Us by Chloe Liese – 4 stars. The slow burn almost killed me!    An enjoyable read. Chloe Liese is a talented writer. I had a great time reading this one. Loved the Bergman family and the representation. Willa wasn’t my favorite heroine though.

Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong – 4 stars. A suspenseful, emotional rollercoaster. It wasn’t as good in my opinion as These Violent Delights but it was still great. It broke me. I had trouble picking up another book after I finished it. I enjoyed how it ended. I’ll definitely miss these characters.

My February TBR went ok, not exactly a success but not a failure either. I read 4/6 books from my TBR and 1 from my wiggle room possibility books. The books I didn’t read were A Dark and Hollow Star and The Maddest Obsession. Spoiler alert: I read both in March. Overall, I think February was a great month for me. I read 3 Fantasy, 3 Mystery/Thriller, and 3 Romance books. What are the odds? 😂
