2022 Reading Stats

I love stats, so I’m sharing a few of my 2022 reading stats. I track specific stats on a spreadsheet, and others I get from Goodreads and Storygraph. This is just a very small portion of what I like to track. 😊

I want to track the graphic novels I read, so that’s why GN appears here as a genre. It’s weird, I know. But it works for me. 🤷

In 2021, Romance was my most read genre (60 books) and fantasy was in second place (42 books). It’s interesting that in 2022 Fantasy took first place with 49 books, more than I read of the genre in 2021 (42), and Romance came second (39 books) which was way, way less than in 2021 (60). I was definitely in a Fantasy mood! I also read less books in 2022 (120) vs 2021 (155), so that’s worth noting.

The Storygraph moods chart is fun to look at. Apparently, my top 3 were adventurous, dark, and mysterious.

2022 was clearly the year I fell in love with V. E. Schwab’s writing.

2022 wasn’t my best year in reading, but I’m happy with what I read. 3.9 average rating is pretty good, and I rated 12,5% of the books 5 stars and 13% of them 4.5 stars! 1/4 of my reading, so that’s amazing! I also finished 8 series and read 42 new-to-me authors. That’s a good reading year. 😊
