I finished 2 books this week and The Cheat Sheet was an absolute favorite read! I loved it! A fantastic friends-to-lovers romance. The characters, the pining, the chemistry, the slow burn… PERFECT! 🥵❤️Bree and Nathan were so great together. I need to read Sarah Adams’ backlist. Any recommendations?

King of Battle and Blood was not an enjoyable experience for me. The world was somewhat interesting but it was too much like From Blood and Ash, which wasn’t enjoyable for me either. The characters were okay. However, it was slow paced, the world was underdeveloped and the plot was all over the place. I didn’t enjoy the romance either. They started off as enemies but there was no pining at all in it. I mean… seriously? No pining, no longing, nothing. It was definitely a missed opportunity to build up the tension and the relationship. The trope used to forge the connection between Isolde and Adrian isn’t usually my favorite, so it’s no surprise I didn’t enjoy it, and the foreshadowing was so heavy-handed that I could see it coming from a mile away. The ending only reiterated what I didn’t like in it. The final scenes made no sense at all and only served the purpose of a second book. I didn’t have a great time with it. I managed to finish it, so I’ll take that as a win. 😅 I won’t read the next book.

I’m currently reading 3 books: I read 130ish pages of Starsight and A Gathering of Shadows, and I reread 700 pages of The Stand, which I read for the first time several years ago. I’m enjoying all of them so far.

Mood reading has been working for me, so I’m not sure what I’ll pick up next. Love Lessons, The Blood Traitor, Fence Vol. 3, or With You Forever will probably be my next picks.

Share your three Ws with me in the comments.

  1. I’ve seen The Cheat Sheet mentioned so many times over the last few months and for some reason have never really been pulled in by it… But now I’m intrigued! I think I might just have to check it out. I *love* Fence and I hope you enjoy this vol! This series by Schwab is also one of my favourites so I hope you love it 😊 Happy reading, Andie!
