Finally, posting my May and June Wrap Up! I’ve read 8 books in May with a total of 3.548 pages and 10 books in June with a total of 4.441 pages. My average rating was 3.875 stars in May and 4.7 stars in June which is insane! June was an amazing reading month considering my average rating.
The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson – 5 stars. ALL. THE. STARS. This was sooooo good! I’m obsessed with Brandon Sanderson’s world building, the magic system is amazing and I couldn’t stop reading. INCREDIBLE. I loved it! I ordered the second and third book immediately after I read TFE.
A Game of Thrones (The Graphic Novel) – 4 stars. Really enjoyed the art, so stunning.
The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan – 4 stars. I love this series. It’s not perfect at all, it has its flaws but I love this world so damn much! The formula of this one is exactly the same of book 1 and 2. There were a few odd choices during this journey, specifically regarding Rand, but that ending… EPIC!
These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong – 5 stars. This was SO good! What a roller coaster. Couldn’t put it down. Loved Chloe Gong’s writing and the world building was so vivid. Can’t wait for the next book!
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas – 4 stars. I get the hype around this series now. This was really good, especially the last half. Great pacing, good plot and a killer ending.
Until You’re Mine by Cindi Madsen – 2 stars. Not a fan of this one. The MMA world described in it was cool and interesting. I didn’t really care about the romance between Shane and Brooklyn… so it’s safe to say their story wasn’t for me.
Always Crew by Tijan – 4 stars. It hurt me to say goodbye to the Wolf Crew. Cross and Bren are two of my favorite characters in the crew system world, so reading this book was bittersweet. I really liked the bounty hunter angle, the loyalty between the wolf crew, Bren and Cross’ relationship and how far all of these characters have come. Not a fan of not having certain characters, Taz for example, more present. Anyway, it was still a great conclusion to this trilogy.
Red Blood by Kaitlyn Legaspi – 3 stars. Check my full review here.
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas – 5 stars. I started to understand the hype about ToG when I read the second book. But now I TOTALLY get the hype! Someone told me that this one was one of the weakest books in the series, but in my opinion it’s way better than book 1 and 2. It really worked for me! I loved it, couldn’t read it fast enough, didn’t want to put it down. Absolutely obsessed with the new characters and the dynamic!
Not My Romeo by Ilsa Madden-Mills – 5 stars. I loved this so much! Jack and Elena were so sweet together! Everything about them worked and I loved every second of it.
How to be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi – 5 stars. A nonfiction book about the concept of antiracism. I enjoyed how the author shared his personal life journey while debating the definitions of “racist” and “racism” and the importance of being an Antiracist.
Paper Girls Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan – 4 stars. The art style is stunning and I’m obsessed with the color scheme. I’m super intrigued with the story, even though I’m still a little confused about what’s going on.
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas – 5 stars. Whoa, it’s official: I’m obsessed with this series. Heir of Fire was really, really good but Queen of Shadows is definitely my favorite so far.
One by One by Ruth Ware – 3 stars. A little predictable… I was interested in the story but I just knew “who done it”, too soon. The setting was really great, though.
The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson – 5 stars. This was freaking perfect! I’m in love with the Mistborn series, these characters have my heart and I’m in awe. The emotional journey in it was done so well. My heart stopped at some parts and I want to pick up The Hero of Ages asap. Brandon Sanderson is one of the most talented fantasy writers EVER. If you love fantasy, you NEED to read this series.
The Dragon and The Queen by Kaitlyn Davis – 5 stars. Check my full review here.
The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna – 5 stars. A very powerful debut that hooked me from page 1. I loved Deka’s journey! The world building was brilliant, the characters and the plot were amazing and the twist… jaw-dropping! I loved this so much! Couldn’t put it down, I was glued to the book. A very powerful story and I can’t wait to get my hands on The Merciless Ones.
Heartstopper by Alice Oseman – 5 stars. This is the cutest story EVER! I loved every page of this. Charlie and Nick are so sweet. Can’t wait to read the next volumes.
May and June were the two months I read less this year. College and work forced me into crazy hours, so the reading outcome isn’t exactly a surprise. What is surprising is that somehow I managed to read all of my May and June TBRs, except from the only book I had put in my May wiggle room and one book in my June wiggle room. Not so bad after all. Especially considering that I was also able to read a few books I had on hold on Libby. I need to post my July Wrap Up as soon as I can, so I can finally have my Wrap Ups up to date!
