2020 was a challenging year for everyone, I was surprised I read 107 books. I thought I wasn’t even going to hit the 100 mark, so I’m happy about these numbers.

2021 Goals

  • Read 3 SciFi books or more;

  • Read 5 nonfiction books or more;

  • Read 3 nonfiction books about  systemic racism, racial justice and anti-racism or more (meaning a total of 8 nonfiction books);

  • Read at least 3 graphic novels or comic books;

  • Read at least 10 Mystery or Thriller or Horror books;

  • Read the first 3 books in The Wheel of Time series;

  • Read The Folk of The Air trilogy;

  • Read The Broken Earth trilogy;

  • Read The Dark Artifices trilogy;

  • Finish The Brown Sisters trilogy (read 1, so 2 books);

  • Participate in 3 readathons;

  • Complete Goodreads Reading Challenge for 2021: 60 books.

These goals are just a little different from last year goals

I’m still trying to read more genres than romance and fantasy, but I’m focused on reading more nonfiction.

I’m including some books by AOC in my goals too because I definitely need to focus on reading diversely, I did better this year than I did in 2019 but I know it’s not good enough yet. I’ll definitely be checking how I’m doing about reading diversely periodically during the year to keep me in check.

I also want to read more horror/thriller/mystery books than I read last year. I don’t usually set goals for romance or fantasy because I read mostly romance and fantasy books.

I lowered the number of SciFi books to read this year, because I haven’t been in the mood for SciFi lately. I do have a few books I want to read this year so I hope I’ll read at least those 3.

I really want to read epic fantasy and I decided to try to read The Wheel of Time series which is massive. 14 books! I think that reading the first three books in 2021 is doable. I hope…

I think these are achievable goals, what do you think? Share your 2021 goals with me in the comments!

P.S: I haven’t been posting a lot lately because I sprained my hand, it hasn’t been a great 2021 so far but it could’ve been worse that’s for sure. I have a lot of catching up to do with all of your posts and I’m trying to do that in the next couple of days! I also have to post my 2020 goals review, a few reviews and some tags from last year.
