Summerween Readathon TBR

Summerween is hosted by Gabby from GabbyReads and Olivia from Oliviareadsalatte. It’s a week long readathon dedicated to reading horrors and thrillers in the summer, it runs from August 24th-30th. I’m craving Halloween so hard, that I couldn’t resist to participate but I’m also a chicken so things can go very wrong. Let’s hope I’ll manage it without being scared to death. 

The Challenges

1. Read a book with a creepy cover

I’ve had The Outsider on my physical TBR for almost a year. My mom got it for my birthday last year and I never pick it up because this cover creeps me out. It was literally the first book I remembered when I read the first challenge!

2. Read a paranormal/supernatural book

Another physical book that’s been on my TBR for almost a year. I checked it on Goodreads because I wasn’t sure if it was a paranormal book and since several people marked it as paranormal, I’m going to assume it fits this challenge.

3. Read a book with a haunted house 

I want to watch the Netflix show and I’ve been putting it off because I want to read the book first, so I picked this one immediately after reading Summerween’s challenges.

4. Read a book in the dark 

I don’t think I’ll manage to read 5 books this week so I’ll pick one of the books I chose for the other challenges and read it in the dark. I’ll probably pick The Guest List because it sounds the less scary (hopefully) of the bunch and I’m a chicken so reading one of these in the dark is the REAL challenge. Also, I’m pretty sure Olivia said we could use the same book for different challenges so here we are.

5. Read a book recommended by the hosts

I had The Guest List on my TBR for a while and it was recommended by Gabby so I decided it was perfect for this challenge. I was VERY tempted to order The Whisper Man or The Shadows, both by Alex North but I was scared by the covers… did I mention I’m a chicken?
