Down the TBR Hole #6

Down The TBR Hole is a meme, hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story, that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.

If your Goodreads TBR pile is out of control and just keeps growing, this is an awesome way to let go books you are never going to read.

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.

  • Order on ascending date added.

  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.

  • Read the synopses of the books

  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

The Books

Date Added: Jun 6, 2015

Do I own it: No.

Thoughts: I’ve read a good part of the Buckhorn Brothers years ago, I did enjoy the series but I’m not sure I’ll want to go back to it. On the other hand, I really like Lori Foster’s stories.

The Verdict: Go.

Do I own it: Yes.

Thoughts: I’ve read one or two books in the Hope series, I really liked it and ended up ordering a physical copy of each every time there was a sale (I don’t own the whole series though). Then, I think I kind of forgot about it.

The Verdict: Keep.

Do I own it: Yes.

Thoughts: Oh, a tough one. Ok. I’ve read book 4 in these series and I like it so much that I ended up adding the whole series to my TBR. I do like Sarah Castille’s style but on the other hand I’ve been disliking MC romance more and more. So, it’s a tough call.

The Verdict: Go.

Do I own it: No.

Thoughts: I’ve heard a lot of good things about Samantha Young, yet I never read one of her books. I added a few of her books to my TBR, mainly those I really liked the synopsis or a great review that caught my eye. Anyway, I’m not sure about this one and if I want to read one of her books I can always start with book 1 in this series.

The Verdict: Go.

Do I own it: No.

Thoughts: I don’t know if I ever share this here but my mom used to read several stories to me when I was a child, Hansel and Gretel was by far my favorite fairy tale. I also love a good retelling, so there’s only one choice here.

The Verdict: Keep.

I got rid of 3/5. I guess it’s not bad… Problem is I’ve been adding books to my TBR like crazy! 😂 October has been one hell of a month when it comes to good releases, everything has been catching my eye and I’m struggling not to order everything I want or I’ll be broke very, very soon.

Anyway, this has been a crazy week, I’ve been working long hours and studying a lot so I’m feeling very tired, still I’ve been managing to read. I’ve read 3 books so far, not as much as I wanted to that’s for sure. I’ve read Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and The Play by Elle Kennedy, I’ve rated both of them 5 stars, I’ll try to post both of the reviews some time next weekend and I’ve also read Angel Mage by Garth Nix which I’ve rated 4 stars and posted my review here. I’ve also read 50% of Sorcery of Thorns which I’m loving! Elisabeth is an amazing character and I think I’m falling in love with her. I’m predicting a 5 star rating but let’s see how that goes. I guess I’ve been very lucky with the books I’ve been reading lately.

Let me know what have you been reading and loving in the comments.

Xo xo,
