Sims-a-thon Round 2 TBR (October 1st-31st)

The Sims-a-thon is a read-a-thon themed all around The Sims. I have been a Sims addict for years! I only found this read-a-thon yesterday on Twitter, but I loved it so much that I really wanted to participate even though round 2 started already. My TBR might be a little ambitious, between a full time job and college, but I’m so excited about this that I’ll give it a try.

So, the Sims-a-thon is a month long read-a-thon that was created by Kara on her youtube channel, this is round #2 running from October 1st to October 31st and you can participate even if you didn’t entered for round #1, the difference between the rounds is that this time an expansion pack was added: The Outdoor Retreat. Basically, there are a series of reading prompts, you can choose the path to start and then work through any Live Mode prompts you like and/or The Outdoor Retreat Edition prompts. For every prompt completed, you get the correspondent points. From what I gathered it’s a very pressure free and relaxed read-a-thon but of course there are rules:

  1. You need to read one book per challenge;

  2. You can do a challenge more than once, you just need to read different books each time;

  3. You can’t double up on a challenge – one book only completes one prompt;

  4. Interpret the prompts how you see fit;

  5. For every challenge prompt completed, you get the indicated number of points;

  6. MOTHERLODE: for every 10 points you accumulated last round, you can make a single challenge prompt worth double points in this round;

  7. Instagram challenges will be happening throughout the month and will be announced on both the official Twitter and Instagram accounts – this is entirely optional, and can be done whether or not you’re reading.

This is just a small explanation but if you’re interested or have any doubts, I suggest that you check this videos/posts that explain every little detail: Kara @biancareadsLauren @ Wonderless Reviews and Faith @ Geeky Zoo Girl.

  1. This looks soooo fun! I’d totally join in if I wasn’t already swamped. And, you picked some awesome books! Some I already love (Six of Crows), and others that I really want to read myself! Enjoy!!!

    1. Oh, I’m sorry you’re swamped and can’t join. I don’t know if I’ll manage to read them all because even though it’s not too many books, between work and college sometimes I can’t read as much as I would want too. Maybe you’ll be able to join the 3rd round. 😉 Thank you!

      1. Good luck getting to them all! I think I’m probably going to read Sorcery of Thorns this month myself. I had really hoped to already read it, but it kept getting pushed back.
