Down the TBR Hole #5

Down The TBR Hole is a meme, hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story, that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.

If your Goodreads TBR pile is out of control and just keeps growing, this is an awesome way to let go books you are never going to read.

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.

  • Order on ascending date added.

  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.

  • Read the synopses of the books

  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

The Books

Do I own it: No.

Thoughts: Like I said in my last Down the TBR Hole post, I added the complete Until Series to my TBR pile because I saw posts about it on several book blogs I follow. Consequently, I also added the spinoff series but lately I haven’t been enjoying insta-love and I’ve read a few reviews that point out some stuff I’m not exactly excited to read.

The Verdict: Go.

Do I own it: No.

Thoughts: I enjoyed the Beaumont Series, especially books #1 and #2, but after book #3 I sort of disconnected from this series. There’s a prequel and other books, yet nothing that make me want to come back to Beaumont and this is a novella… On the other hand, I’m obsessed with The Archer Brothers Series that I absolutely loved and I really like Heidi McLaughlin.

The Verdict: Go. (Maybe if I owned it, I would read it but I don’t so…)

Date Added: April 22, 2015

Do I own it: No.

Thoughts: This is the prequel to Forever My Girl, book #1 in the Beaumont Series and my thoughts about this is partially what I stated above about My Everything. Even though it’s about my favorite couple in this series, I’m not exactly excited to go back and read about how [SPOILER ALERT] Liam broke Josie’s heart and became a rock star.

The Verdict: Go.

Do I own it: No.

Thoughts: Another one in the Beaumont Series, this one is book #4.5 and my thoughts about this is exactly what I stated above about My Everything. Also, I don’t remember this characters from the previous books I read.

The Verdict: Go.

Do I own it: No.

Thoughts: Another one in the Beaumont Series, but this one continues Liam and Josie’s story (the main characters in books #1 and #2). This is the book that would probably make me come back to Beaumont. However, I’m a little scared that this book might ruin my love for Liam and Josie’s story.

The Verdict: Keep.

Do I own it: No.

Thoughts: So, this book has a lot of history. It hasn’t released yet and I think there’s a chance it won’t be any time soon. It’s supposed to be book #4 in the Rusk University Series, but there’s been a lot of stuff happening that keeps delaying this book. I actually think this is a very tough book to write, everyone who read this series was expecting Stella’s story with such high hopes, her story isn’t exactly a happy story because something really terrible happened to her and I think all of this created an enormous amount of pressure on Cora to write this book. Then, Cora had also very serious health issues and as a result she was struggling with her publishing schedule. I think things are better now but she’s been very invested in her Stormheart series, which by the way I totally have to read, so I don’t really know if All Closed Off is going to be published. Anyway, I’m holding on to a chance that it might. Someday, it doesn’t really matter when.

The Verdict: Keep.

Do I own it: Yes.

Thoughts: Vi Keeland. It’s always hard to let her books go. I haven’t read a fighter romance for quite some time. The blurb is ok aside from mentioning a guy that’s dating the heroine for 2 years which is unappealing to me.

The Verdict: Go.

Date Added: May 31, 2015

Do I own it: Yes.

Thoughts: Again, Vi Keeland. It’s a second chance romance, so it’s right up my alley. Except I’m not very interested in it just by reading the blurb.

The Verdict: Go.

Date Added: May 31, 2015

Do I own it: No.

Thoughts: Ok, I should really stop adding an entire series to my TBR Goodreads shelve without reading at least the first book in the series. Because after I got rid of the first two in this series, you can see when this is going right? Even though, all 3 of these books can be read as standalones…

The Verdict: Go.

Date Added: May 31, 2015

Do I own it: Yes.

Thoughts: I’ve read 3 books in this series and I actually skipped Zack’s story because I literally couldn’t wait to read Ryker’s story first which was actually a 5 stars book to me (Zack is book #3 and Ryker is book #4). I think I kind of forgot about going back to read Zack’s book. I really, really like this series, I’m obsessed with hockey and I love Sports Romance.

The Verdict: Keep.

I just kicked 7/10 off my TBR. I’m ruthless and I’m definitely a mood reader if you couldn’t tell yet. This is one of my favorite memes and I really enjoy it, sometimes there’s a few books that are hard to let go but it’s all about being honest with ourselves.

I’ve been in a very strange mood lately and I think it might be the reason why I’m getting rid of so many books in my TBR list. Maybe it’s the end of the summer having a weird influence on me. I don’t know. However, I do love Autumn so this weird mood will be over very soon. October is going to be a fun month, I’ve ordered my first ever Fairyloot box and I’m so excited about that because I absolutely love their October theme:

    1. I think my mood in September has been the reason why I’m getting rid of so much. Trust me, it will change! 🙂 I’ve had other posts before and I couldn’t get rid of this much, more like 2/5 or 5/10. What matters is that slowly you’ll be making room for more books to be added and your TBR growth won’t be so overwhelming. 😉

  1. You seem to be a spring cleaning mood. LOL! I love Vi Keeland, but I haven’t read those, so I couldn’t say you should have kept them. I actually haven’t read any of these. The Cora Carmack looks good!

    1. Hahah, you’re right!! It definitely feels like a spring cleaning mood! 😀 Cora Carmack’s Rusk University series is very enjoyable, it’s a new adult, sports college romance. I really liked it, you should check it out maybe you’ll enjoy it too. 😉
