Family law attorney Gabriella Liakos has one true love, Elpitha Island, where she grew up and hopes someday to return. But Elpitha is in financial ruins, and Gabriella will do anything to keep it from falling into the wrong hands.
Duke Ryder is a savvy real estate investor set on making Elpitha into an exclusive resort. Unlike other investors, he’s not scared of purchasing a property where one family has roots so deep they practically reach the ocean floor…until he meets his beautiful, stubborn, and enticing tour host―the daughter of the owner of most of the island.
Gabriella sets out to dissuade Duke from purchasing Elpitha, but Duke has other ideas. He wants Gabriella and the island. Duke’s powerful seduction draws Gabriella in, but can a savvy investor who’s used to glamour and glitz, and a woman interested in preserving the culture she adores find a happily ever after together?
Claimed by Love is the second book in Melissa Foster’s Love In Bloom: The Ryders Series and it’s a passionate love story that can be read as a standalone.
Gabriella Liakos is a strong-willed, confident woman who is deeply in love with Elpitha Island where she grew up and where she would love to live but the Island is in financial ruins and the job offering is slim to none. Especially because she’s a family law attorney and well… no one ever gets divorced in Elpitha. Gabriella’s grandfather asks her to help him save the family’s Island and their legacy by reaching a good deal with the real estate investors.
Duke is a hot real estate investor who wants to make Elpitha into an exclusive resort, with casinos and golf courses. He possesses a very strong work ethic but he’s also a very determined and clever investor. Both Duke and Gabriella weren’t expecting the strong instant attraction between them, the sparks between them are so tangible that almost every member of Gabriella’s family notice and tease them about it.
“I heard everything you said. And everything you didn’t say…I have to keep my distance because everytime you’re near, I want to kiss you. And I have a feeling that one taste of you would never be enough.”
I loved the Island vivid descriptions, the Greek/Southern heritage through Duke and Gabriella’s tour was colorful and I felt like I was being pulled into paradise.
Gabriella’s main goal is to scare Duke away, getting him to give up and not invest but she’s too attracted to Duke to resist him. Duke can’t believe he finally met a woman who makes him want to cross a line he never crossed before: the line between business and pleasure.
Soon, the line is too blurry and they’re developing feelings for each other and their passion is explosive! I loved Duke’s dirty talk, totally hot and he’s so amazing and patient with Gabriella! But as they are facing each other on opposite sides of the negotiating table… can their passion survive? Will they be able to move on with their relationship?
Can’t wait for Jake’s story! I’m also very curious about Trish and Boone’s book (a rock star, oh yeah!).
Melissa Foster delivers an enthralling contemporary romance with great characters, heartwarming families and an explosive passion, Claimed by Love is definitely a great read.
